Specialized Yoga Movement For Women
Some healing happens in offices.
This happens closer to the ground.
A tended space, unhurried by diagnosis or agenda rooted in the body's own intelligence and the quiet wisdom of what grows in its own time. Each session meets you where you already are: in your own home, in your own light, at your own pace.

I work with women
in in-between places.
Those navigating a body that has shifted. Those sitting with pain that doesn't have a neat name, or grief that doesn't follow a schedule. Those sensing even dimly that healing is not about returning to who they were, but finding their way into who they are becoming.
I'm Shauna. I've been guiding women toward deeper embodiment for over 20 years, deeply rooted in the practice of Kundalini Yoga since 2003. My approach integrates specialized training in Trauma-Sensitive Yoga (TCTSY), Expressive Arts, Ericksonian Hypnotherapy, and Somatic Coaching, helping you safely regulate your nervous system, move through deep grief, and step into who you are becoming.
I founded The Maitri Collective on a single word: maitri - loving kindness. It is not a technique. It is the hearth this entire practice is built around.

How we work together
01
We begin by listening.
Your story, your body, your pace. All of it, hurting, curious, skeptical, hopeful is welcome here, without explanation or justification. Nothing needs to be performed.
02
We draw from many tools.
Yoga, breathwork, meditation, hypnotherapy, movement, expressive arts. Each session responds to what you need that day not a curriculum, but a living, organic conversation.
03
Tended not rushed
Like anything rooted in nature, this practice grows in its own season woven into the rhythm of your real life, at the pace your nervous system can trust.

Common Questions
Do I need any Yoga experience?
None at all. Sessions are shaped to your body exactly as it is whether you have never been on a mat or have practiced for years.
How do virtual sessions work?
Yes. While I offer in-person somatic mentoring, grief coaching, and death doula care by appointment in the West Kootenays, my coaching packages are also fully available virtually.
Do you offer in-person sessions?
Yes. One-to-one sessions are available both virtually and in-person in the West Kootenays. Sunday classes are in-person at Pass Creek Hall. We can find what fits your life during our first conversation.
When can I start prenatal sessions?
Many women begin in the second trimester. If you'd like to start earlier or have pregnancy complications, a note from your healthcare provider helps us work together safely
What if I have health conditions and physical limitations?
Sessions are fully adapted to you. Share what's present during our first conversation and we'll build from there.
What is your cancellation policy?
Please give at least 24 hours' notice to reschedule. Late cancellations may carry a fee.
Are these coaching and somatic services available online?
Yes. While I offer in-person somatic mentoring, grief coaching, and death doula care by appointment in the West Kootenay region of BC, my trauma and grief coaching packages are fully optimized for virtual delivery. Through private, secure video sessions, we use the props and space you have at home to build a personal sanctuary for your healing journey.
What is the difference between a trauma coach and a psychotherapist?
Trauma coaching is forward-looking, focused on where you are today rather than diagnosing the past. As a Trauma Coach, I use interoceptive movement and nervous system regulation tools to help you build resilience, establish boundaries, and take tangible steps toward your future goals. This work is not a replacement for psychotherapy or clinical treatment..
How can a somatic grief coach help me process a loss?
Grief is not just a mental emotion; it lives heavily inside our physical bodies, often causing exhaustion, chest tightness, or chronic pain. By utilizing gentle interoceptive movement practices, expressive arts, and conversational hypnotherapy, we create a safe, unhurried harbor. This allows your nervous system to express and release the weight of deep loss without the need to endlessly retell your story.
